The municipalities, that collect leftover paint as part of their hazardous household waste management program, can benefit from the support of Éco-peinture, particularly for the storage, transportation and reclamation of recovered paint products.

Storage

Éco-peinture has designed a covered storage bin for municipalities. These bins are used to store closed paint containers. These bins, clearly identified by the Éco-peinture logo, are safe, easy to use and suitable for the storage of small numbers of paint containers.

Municipalities and MRCs can order these storage bins from Éco-peinture, which will provide them, based on availability, free of charge or at the current rate.

Transportation

Éco-peinture will cover the costs to transport its collection bins from collection to processing sites. This transportation will take place under safe conditions, according to existing laws and regulations on the transportation of household and hazardous waste.

Reclamation

The residual paint collected by Éco-peinture is sent to Peintures récupérées du Québec inc., which, after processing, it able to market a quality product. This recycled paint can be purchased by the public at participating dealers. The paint is sold under the brand name        “ Peinture récupérée.”

Recycling

The metal (mainly steel) and plastic containers are sent to recycling companies for reprocessing.
